Iran held talks on the nuclear issue with the countries of the Eurotroika
Iran and three European countries (France, Germany and the United Kingdom) have held another round of nuclear talks in Geneva. This was announced on August 26 by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic Kazem Gharibabadi.
"Mr. [Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid] Takht-Ravanchi and I held another meeting with the political leaders of three European countries and the EU in Geneva. Both sides have outlined their views on resolution 2231 [which enshrines international control over Iran's nuclear program]," Gharibabadi wrote on his account on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
He added that Tehran continues to insist on finding a mutually beneficial diplomatic solution. Gharibabadi also noted that it is time for European countries to make the right decision and resolve the nuclear issue with Iran through diplomacy.
Earlier in the day, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Tehran is ready to resume indirect talks with Washington on its nuclear program if it receives guarantees that the attack on the country by the United States and Israel will not happen again. He added that Tehran must be confident in the honesty and fairness of the negotiations.
