The premiere of the multigenre play "Morozko" took place in the NC "Russia"

The premiere of the multigenre play "Morozko" took place at the National Center (NC) "Russia". This was announced on December 28 by the NC press service.

"We are trying to do something that no one has ever done. Our performance is a new look at the fairy tale "Morozko", which has been loved by everyone since childhood. We keep the traditions, but we tell this story in the language of modernity, using multimedia decorations and new technologies. <...> This is a production for the whole family," said Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy General Director of NC Rossiya.

The idea of creating "Morozko" belongs to the premiere of the Bolshoi Ballet Igor Tsvirko. He said that the idea of the production arose after participating in last year's "The Nutcracker" at the NC "Russia".

The main director and screenwriter of the project, Chulpan Piotrovskaya, emphasized that the key feature of the production was its multigenreality. According to her, the performance organically combines ballet, opera, folklore and modern choreography.

"The performance is multifaceted, different in tempo and content, which makes it unique. Every adult will find something for themselves, and every child will get a piece of happiness. When everything comes together in a single Morozko set, the audience leaves with a good New Year's mood," she shared.

The production involves artists from the Bolshoi Theater, the Kremlin Ballet, the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater, the Kostroma Russian National Ballet, actors from the Yevgeny Vakhtangov Theater and the U Nikitsky Vorota Theater, the Buranovskie Babushki folklore group and many others. The costume designer was Tatiana Staselovich.

Screenings of "Morozko" are taking place at the Rossiya National Center on December 28 and 30, from January 6 to January 11, and the final performance is scheduled for January 14.

On December 27, the national center "Russia" hosted a theatrical performance with the participation of Santa Claus from Udmurtia, Tol Babai, as part of the Winter Wizards festival.
