Several thousand Moscow police officers said goodbye to their colleagues, two traffic police officers, Ilya Klimanov and Maxim Gorbunov, on December 26. They died on December 24 in an explosion on Yeletskaya Street in Moscow. Details can be found in the story by Alexey Poltoranin, a correspondent of Izvestia.

There is a huge queue of colleagues who came to say goodbye to the inspectors at the building of the Moscow Department of Internal Affairs, where Ilya Klimanov and Maxim Gorbunov worked. It is also crowded near the church where the funeral service is taking place. Traffic police officers died during their service this week.

"Ilya Klimanov and Maxim Gorbunov joined the Moscow police a year apart and have been true to their profession all this time. That day, while on duty, they noticed a suspicious person and decided to approach him," the correspondent said.

In front of them was a criminal who wanted to install an improvised explosive device under the bottom of a police car. The inspectors had to act quickly, coherently, and actually be proactive. An explosion was heard during the arrest of the criminal. Both inspectors died.

"They were like real men, decent employees who fulfilled their duty to the end. It's very different, our duty, and people treat us very differently. Someone is angry, someone says bad words after them, but they took the oath and defended everyone without exception," said Oleg Baranov, head of the Russian Interior Ministry in Moscow.

Thanks to the actions of the crew, none of the people were injured. The inspectors covered the bomb with themselves.

"I think that the staff of the Moscow central office and each division would have done the same, because in fact it is very difficult to perform such tasks, but this is protecting the public safety of citizens, and these are really professionals in their field, employees with a capital letter," said a senior specialist at the department of moral and psychological support 2 -go special police regiment Alena Zbritskaya.

Klimanov and Gorbunov have been friends all their lives. We went to the same kindergarten, then to the same school. Both were in the army. Ilya was honored to serve in the separate commandant's Preobrazhensky regiment of the Armed Forces (AF), and then both policemen served in the same crew.

"The guys were very good, from good families, they both studied well, and Ilya went to the medal, he missed a bit, he got an excellent certificate. They are the kind of people who won't stand at the monitor and will wait. They will do it themselves," said Svetlana Filimonova, director of the Mikhnevskaya secondary school in Stupino.

And they didn't sit still in their free time. Both were engaged in the local sports and recreation complex (FOK). Ilya was a football club player in the Moscow region, Maxim was engaged in SAMBO.

"Ilya, he came from childhood, in general, from the age of seven. In 2008, he appeared in this VIDEO as a young football player. And from the very first days, he began to show his fighting qualities," recalled Valery Tarasov, head coach of the Sokol football club.

Their names will forever be written in history. Their photos will be in the Museum of glory, and a memorial plaque will appear on the school building where they studied. The inspectors will be awarded Orders of Courage for their heroic deeds. People are now bringing flowers to the place of their deaths.

On 24 it was reported that a loud explosion had occurred in the south of Moscow. Fragments were visible on the road. The Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case in connection with the incident. As a result of the explosion, two traffic police officers were killed. They turned out to be police lieutenants Ilya Klimanov, 24, and Maxim Gorbunov, 25. Another person was also killed.

Later, a source from Izvestia reported that the bomber who set off the explosion was acting at the behest of fraudsters. The interlocutor said that telephone scammers deceived the man by hacking the Gosuslugi service. He was misled by reports that he was cooperating with law enforcement agencies and disrupting an "espionage operation." The criminals instructed the man to plant an explosive device under the car.
