Russia intends to increase the production of drones in accordance with the tasks of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said on December 26.

He noted that currently active work is underway specifically on the production of aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and FPV drones.

"We are localizing the components, and we will continue to increase both production volumes and adaptation to the tasks of the Ministry of Defense with our manufacturers and developers," the first deputy Prime Minister said in an interview with Rossiya—24 TV channel.

Currently, Russia significantly surpasses Ukraine in the number of drones supplied to the front.

"The President [of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin] has already said, I can only repeat here, that we produce a million of these products and today we supply them to the front in larger quantities than our opponent," Manturov said.

During the "Results of the Year" on December 19, Putin noted that Russia has become a leader in the production of drones (UAVs) and surpasses the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). At the same time, Russian specialists are developing new heavy drones. He stressed that the situation with unmanned aircraft in the Russian army has changed "dramatically."
