- A pre-professional exam in Moscow will allow you to get more points for the Unified State Exam. What you need to know
Moscow graduate students have the opportunity to earn up to 10 additional points for the Unified State Exam by passing the capital's pre-professional test. You can sign up for the exam right now by choosing one of the areas: for example, engineering, medical, or psychological and pedagogical. More than 30 universities are participating in the initiative, and a format with full-time and remote participation is provided for high school students from the regions. What you need to know about the program is in the Izvestia article.
Terms of participation
• Graduate students in Moscow, as well as high school students from other regions of Russia, can increase their USE results by 10 additional points thanks to the pre-professional exam "Intellectual Metropolis. Potential." Registration for it is already underway.
• Not only Muscovites, but also schoolchildren from other cities can take part in the competition in a face-to-face and distance format. In 2024, over 33,000 students from 32 regions joined the project, and about 5,000 of them won prizes and received additional points.
• In 2025, the competition "Intellectual Metropolis. Potential" will be held from December 8 to March 20 and will include two stages — theoretical and practical. The first round involves completing assignments prepared by teachers from leading universities. It will be held face-to-face in Moscow schools, and remote participants from other regions will be monitored by online observers.
• The second, practical stage, will take place at the bases of partner universities, including Moscow State University, MGIMO and the First Medical University. The competition covers engineering, medical, entrepreneurial, pedagogical, cadet, media and IT fields. It gives students the opportunity to show their knowledge and professional interests.
• The pre-professional exam has been held in Moscow since 2017. This year, the Ministry of Education and Science again recognized the competition as a federally significant event aimed at developing the intellectual potential of young people. The project promotes the formation of professional skills of schoolchildren and supports the goals of the national initiatives "Professionalism" and "All the best for children".
How to register for the contest
• To participate in the "Intellectual Metropolis. Potential", you need to go to the website my.mcko.ru and create a personal account. To do this, register by clicking on the "Create an account" link and fill in the required fields. After logging in, you need to make sure that your personal information is correct and that the equipment is ready to work.
• You can start completing tasks at the start time of the test, indicated on the event card. The competition schedule can be found here. Detailed information about the event can be found on the official website of the contest.
How to decide on a direction
• Before choosing the direction of the competition, it is worth analyzing your own interests and strengths. It is useful to make a list of school subjects that are of the greatest interest, and to note in which areas the best results are obtained. It is also worth thinking about what types of activities bring pleasure, for example, working with people, technology, creativity, data analysis or solving logical problems.
• You can talk to teachers, school psychologists, and career center specialists who will help you identify the most appropriate field. After analyzing your own abilities, it is important to study information about the training courses available at universities and colleges, as well as the requirements for applicants.
• It is necessary to find out which subjects are taken into account when passing the Unified State Exam, what is the structure of education and what employment prospects open up after graduation. It is also worth paying attention to the relevance of professions in demand on the labor market, and considering the possibility of combining interest with practical benefits. For a deeper understanding of the chosen field, you can attend open days, get acquainted with educational programs, and communicate with students and graduates.
