In the Belgorod region, five civilians were injured after drone strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on December 29 by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.

"In the Belgorod district, at the intersection of the Bessonovka – Orlovka roads, two women suffered barotrauma from a drone strike on a passenger car. One of them was also diagnosed with shrapnel wounds to her shoulder. The victims independently applied to the Tomarovskaya CRH," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to the governor, another man went to the hospital after the attack that took place in Grayvorona — he was diagnosed with a mine explosion injury and a concussion. Drone strikes also damaged cars and private homes in Grayvoronsky, Shebekinsky and Borisovsky districts.

Gladkov reports that four municipalities were attacked in total. The victims received the necessary medical care, some of them were hospitalized for further examination.

Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had carried out a drone attack on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Novgorod region. Despite this, Russia does not intend to withdraw from the negotiation process with the United States on Ukraine.
