More than 60% of Russians plan to increase their income in 2026
More than 60% of Russians intend to raise their income levels in 2026. This is evidenced by the results of a study of the <url> service.

"More than 60% of Russians surveyed plan to increase their income in 2026. <...> To increase income, 25% of respondents plan to ask for an increase in their current salary without increasing their workload, and 19% are ready to take on additional shifts," RIA Novosti reports.
At the same time, 18% plan to look for a part-time job or side projects that are not related to their main place of employment. 14% are considering a career change or professional development, while 16% are thinking about starting their own business or developing self-employment. About 8% of the respondents plan to combine several strategies at once.
At the same time, Russians have different income growth expectations. Almost half of the survey participants (44%) expect to increase their total earnings by 10-20%, while another 18% aim to grow by more than 20%. At the same time, 27% of respondents intend to maintain their current income levels by focusing on reducing costs.
The study also showed that in 2026, the majority of Russians plan to pay more attention to financial discipline. 62% of the respondents stated their intention to save money. In particular, more than half (58%) are going to abandon impulsive purchases, and 46% plan to calculate large expenses in advance and regularly keep personal budget records.
Russians mainly expect to use the saved funds for savings and investments. More than half of the respondents (51%) reported plans to distribute money between bank deposits, savings accounts, bonds, stocks, and alternative instruments.
The survey participants placed a special emphasis on the formation of a financial safety cushion: almost half (47%) plan to have a reserve of at least three months of expenses, and 22% plan to increase it to six months or more.
On December 18, representatives of the ORO marketing research agency pointed to an increase in Russians' spending on the New Year in 2025. According to their research, the largest spending due to the holidays is observed among young people and residents of the Central region. Young people spend more on holidays than older generations — on average about 24 thousand rubles.
