Ex-head of the Tambov region Egorov arrested in a bribery case

Maxim Egorov, the former head of the Tambov Region, is suspected of taking bribes worth more than 80 million rubles. This was reported on December 29 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

"According to the investigation, in the period from 2022 to 2024, Egorov systematically received large-scale bribes in the form of money, other property, and illegal provision of property services from Roman Stefanov, General Director of Gazprom Gazoraspredenie Tambov JSC and Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Tambov LLC. Their total amount was at least 84 million rubles," the agency's Telegram channel said.
