Norwegian skier Johannes Klebo won the freestyle sprint on December 28 at the first stage of the multi-day Tour de Ski, which takes place in Italy.

According to Sport-Express, in the final race, the five-time Olympic champion showed a result of 2 minutes 28.82 seconds. His compatriot Lars Heggen finished second, losing 0.13 seconds to the leader, while another Norwegian, Oscar Opstad Vike, took third place with 0.8 seconds behind.

Russian skier Savely Korostelev, competing in a neutral status, became 49th in qualifying and failed to make it to the quarterfinals of the competition.

On the same day, Russian skier Daria Nepryaeva did not qualify for the final part of the freestyle sprint at the first stage of the Tour de Ski. It was clarified that the athlete was 0.85 seconds short of Frenchwoman Margot Tirlo, who became 30th.
