In Ukraine, Zelensky was suspected of being ready to make unspoken concessions
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky may be ready to make much more serious concessions in the framework of a possible peace agreement than he publicly declares. This was announced on December 28 by the Telegram channel of the publication "Страна.иа ".
"In this regard, a version has already emerged that in reality Zelensky has agreed to make much greater concessions than he says publicly," the publication says.
The article notes that such conclusions appeared after a recent statement by US President Donald Trump. According to the newspaper, the 20-point plan previously announced by Zelensky turned out to be a document not agreed with Washington and represents only Kiev's vision of the parameters of possible peace agreements.
At the same time, "The Country.ua" emphasizes that at the moment there is no confirmation of Zelensky's readiness for larger-scale concessions. The publication also indicated that the development of the situation will become clearer in the near future, since negotiations between Zelensky and Trump are scheduled to take place today.
On the same day, political scientist and former US Army lieutenant Colonel Earl Rasmussen said that Zelensky's demands for a peaceful settlement of the conflict put Ukraine at risk. He added that Zelensky, despite the difficult situation of the Ukrainian army, continues to demand "surrender" from Russia.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in turn, said that the Ukrainian authorities and their European supervisors were not ready for constructive negotiations. He also added that "the Kiev regime is terrorizing civilians, carrying out sabotage against the civilian infrastructure of our country."
