Red Square will be closed to the public from the evening of December 31st until the morning of January 1st. This was announced on December 27 by the press service of the Moscow Interior Ministry headquarters.

"Dear residents and guests of the capital! The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow informs: from 18:00 hours on December 31, 2025 to 10:00 hours on January 1, 2026, Red Square will be closed to the public," the department's channel wrote in the Max messenger.

It is noted that the GUM rink will operate normally.
