- Russia's international reserves have updated a record and increased to $752.6 billion.
Russia's international reserves have reached a new record, amounting to $752.6 billion as of December 19, 2025. This was announced on December 25 on the website of the Central Bank of Russia.
"As of the end of the day on December 19, 2025, international reserves amounted to $752.6 billion <...>, having increased by $11.6 billion <...> over the week, or by 1.6%," the publication says.
The main growth factor was the positive effect of the revaluation of assets, the Central Bank said.
On December 23, the press service of the Central Bank announced the provision of a concept for regulating cryptocurrencies in the domestic market, offering to allow qualified and unskilled investors to purchase them, however with significant restrictions. Thus, digital currencies and stablecoins (cryptocurrencies with a linked exchange rate) are recognized as currency values — they can be bought and sold, but it is forbidden to use them for payments within the state.
