The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, owns the land on which a residential complex is being built, where businessman Timur Mindich purchased 77 apartments. This was announced on December 24 by former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.

"The owner of the land on which the residential complex is being built, where Mindich bought 77 apartments <...> is Rustem Umerov," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Azarov also noted that the apartments in the residential complex were purchased by a businessman not at a market price.

The media reported on December 21 that the investment fund associated with Mindich acquired 77 apartments in Kiev in the Riverdale business class residential complex. As specified, the apartments were purchased at a 60% discount. 1 sq. m. m cost the fund 18 thousand hryvnias, despite the fact that for ordinary buyers the price started from 48 thousand hryvnias per "square".

The day before, the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper reported that Mindich, suspected of corruption in the energy sector, refused to return to Ukraine from Israel. It is noted that he is not ready to testify.

Earlier, on December 18, Ruslan Magamedrasulov, a detective with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), said that there was strong evidence that the former head of the office of the Ukrainian president, Andriy Ermak, was involved in the Mindich corruption case.

On November 10, NABU revealed a money laundering scheme in the country's energy sector, through which about $100 million passed. At that time, seven people were charged, including Mindich (he is called the head of the criminal scheme).
