The construction of a sports and recreation complex in the village of Jabyk in the Kartalinsky district of the Chelyabinsk region has been stopped at the 90% readiness stage due to the bankruptcy of the contractor and court proceedings. This was announced by the regional government in its Telegram channel after Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to sort out the situation during the "Results of the Year".

On the air of a direct line with the President of the Russian Federation, residents of the Chelyabinsk region complained about the unfinished construction of a sports and recreation complex in the village of Jabyk. They said that the walls and roof of the building were erected, before further work "stopped." Putin promised the locals to sort out the construction process.

"According to the terms of the contract, the contractor had to deliver the facility in full readiness. However, the contractor went bankrupt, and the work was not completed. Currently, the facility's readiness is about 90%," the government of the Chelyabinsk Region said in a statement.

It is specified that the Arbitration Court of the Chelyabinsk region is in the process of claiming recognition of the right to the object for the municipality. The next meeting is scheduled for January 26, 2026.

The regional authorities assured that the issue of completion of construction is under special control. After receiving a court decision on the transfer of ownership to the municipality, the facility will be completed and put into operation "within a few months." The work was carried out within the framework of the regional program "Development of physical culture and sports".

Earlier that day, the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia opened a criminal case on the fact of an undelivered construction site in the Chelyabinsk region.
