Rambler Portal has launched Russia's first AI-based news assistant

On December 16, Russia's first LLM portal, Rambler, introduced a new feature - a dialog box with an AI assistant that can answer users' questions about news in real time, forming answers based on trusted sources.

The news AI assistant, presented on the main page of the Rambler portal, works in real time and provides users with answers to questions about current events using data from verified federal media and proprietary materials. It is important that each response is accompanied by links to the original sources, which helps to avoid the spread of fakes and emotional triggers.

This service is the first of its kind in the Russian media environment, offering the user structured and prompt answers to questions. The answers can be either general — for example, "What is the latest news from Russia?" or more specific — for example, "What did the President say on the program "Results of the Year?" or "What is happening with the Moscow–Phuket plane?".

The service is based on the GigaChat neural network from Sberbank and is not limited to summarizing news. He is able to answer clarifying questions and provide context for a deeper understanding of the information. At the same time, all the answers are supported by links to sources so that users can get acquainted with the details.

"The new interactive AI assistant allows you to ask any question and immediately get a verified answer with links to verified sources. This is a technological step that helps maintain trust in the media in the age of fakes," said Anna Ivanova, Rambler's Executive Director, Director of Content and Technology at Rambler &Co.
