At Gastronaut Hospitality's Woohoo restaurant in Dubai, dishes are prepared by the artificial intelligence (AI) Chef Ayman, trained on thousands of recipes and flavor combinations. The history of this project began with an experiment by the owner of the restaurant, Akhmet Oytun Cakir, who, faced with a creative crisis, decided to use ChatGPT to create a new dish. He asked the chatbot to provide a recipe — the neural network chose mutton with spices.
"It was amazing, just amazing. We immediately took a photo and put it on the menu. It became a bestseller," the owner noted.
The AI Chef is an avatar based on the Umai model developed by Vivid Studios in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He looks like a middle-aged man, wears glasses and has a futuristic look. He manages the kitchen using knowledge gathered from a variety of recipes and food data.
The restaurant is an experimental model of using AI in gastronomy. Chef Aiman is able to create dishes by combining different ingredients and flavor combinations. This approach can significantly affect the development of the restaurant industry and cooking methods in the future.
Anton Ivlev, a lawyer and human rights defender for entrepreneurs, told Izvestia on October 15 about the legal risks of using AI in business. He clarified that the root of the problem lies not in the algorithms themselves, but in the illusion of managers that responsibility for the actions of the machine can be delegated to the neural network itself. According to the expert, blind trust in technology can lead to mistakes that are too expensive.
