During a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov "checked the clock" on the Iranian nuclear program. This was reported on November 17 on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"A useful clock reconciliation took place on the subject of the Iranian nuclear program on the eve of the opening session of the IAEA Board of Governors," the report said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the sides continued to exchange views on resolving the contradictions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The foreign ministers also expressed satisfaction with the intensification of bilateral contacts, which contributes to the further strengthening of the Russian-Iranian partnership.

Earlier, on October 29, the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, said that the organization does not have and did not have information about Iran's creation of nuclear weapons. According to Grossi, Tehran has confirmed its readiness to remain within the framework of the nuclear non-proliferation regime, despite Western sanctions.

On November 1, Araqchi announced that Iran was ready to negotiate on its nuclear program, but the United States had made unacceptable demands. At the same time, Araqchi clarified that the country is not interested in direct negotiations with Washington. According to the Foreign Minister, an agreement can be reached through indirect negotiations.
