The first group of Russian tourists arrived in the Chinese city of Heihe after the introduction of a visa-free regime. This was reported on September 15 by the Sohu Internet portal.

It is specified that the Russians got from Blagoveshchensk to the port of Heihe in Heilongjiang province by ship in just five minutes. A one-way ferry ticket costs 80 yuan (946.1 rubles) per person. Upon arrival in China, tourists began to enjoy local dishes such as pork in sweet and sour sauce and three types of fresh vegetables.

One of the tourists, Leila, said that she learned about the visa-free regime and decided to go to Heihe by ferry on the first day of its operation. It was her first visit to China. Leila and her boyfriend are planning a two-week trip to Shanghai. The tourist noted that she was fascinated by the culture of the country and was looking forward to trying the local cuisine.

Ivan, another tourist from the Sakhalin Region, said that this was his second visit to China. Previously, he traveled with a tour group, but this time he decided to use a visa-free regime. He has not yet decided on further travel plans and intends to try local cuisine in Heihe first.

In turn, the head of the promotion and marketing department of Heihe City, Li Liyan, noted that Russian tourists often come to China for shopping, since the prices of goods in Heihe are much lower than in Russia, which makes trips especially popular among tourists.

The introduction of a visa-free regime for Russian citizens with a regular passport for up to 30 days was announced on September 2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation added that Russia has requested additional clarifications from China on the conditions of entry as part of the decision on visa-free entry. Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated the next day that Russia would reciprocate China's move.

On September 5, Putin noted the importance of introducing a visa-free regime for joint business in China. According to him, this will help to increase mutual trips and create favorable conditions for entrepreneurship.
