- The State Duma expressed its intention to raise the minimum wage to 60 thousand rubles.
The minimum wage needs to be increased to 60 thousand rubles. This was announced on September 1 by the leader of the Fair Russia — For Truth faction, Sergei Mironov.
He recalled that Anton Kotyakov, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, proposed raising the minimum wage for 2026 by 20.7% to 27 thousand rubles. According to him, this amount is enough to live on, taking into account the subsistence minimum at the level of 19.3 thousand rubles. At the same time, he suggested that in 2026 the living wage will be at least 35-43 thousand rubles.
"We need to really assess the situation, raise minimum standards, and the level of salaries and social support," Mironov said in an interview with TASS.
He noted that this difference is related to current approaches to calculating basic values. This also applies to the consumer basket.
The MP also shared that the party plans to conduct a study to calculate the size of the consumer basket and the cost of living. It is expected that calculations will be carried out by category separately for pensioners, students and families with children, including those with many children. Mironov stressed that after the analysis, specific figures will be noticeable. Based on the results of the study, the party is going to recommend appropriate standards to the government.
Earlier, on April 30, the head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, Yaroslav Nilov from the Liberal Democratic Party, announced the development of a bill suggesting an increase in the minimum wage. He proposed to raise the minimum wage to 34 thousand rubles from January 1, 2026. According to him, it is also necessary to set a lower hourly wage for part-time workers to 300 rubles per hour.
