By 2027, artificial Christmas trees are expected to occupy up to 80% of the Russian market, due to their advantages in terms of environmental friendliness, practicality and affordability. This was announced on December 30 by Dmitry Belyantsev, a marketplace expert and co-owner of OSPREY.

According to him, at the same time, sales of natural fir trees show a downward trend, with a projected drop of 15% to 20%.

"Artificial models are already superior to live ones in all key parameters: environmental friendliness (one Christmas tree lasts 10-15 years), practicality and long-term cost. Live Christmas trees are based on flavor and tradition, but this is a weak argument. It is expected that by 2027 the share of artificial fir trees will reach 80%," he said in an interview with TASS.
