Russians who violate the silence regime on New Year's Eve may face a fine of up to 2,000 rubles. This was announced on December 30 by a lawyer, a member of the Union of bloggers lawyers based at the Moscow State Law Institute. Kutafina at the Ilona Prokofiev Bar Association of Russia.

"The silence regime is regulated at the level of the subjects of the Russian Federation, so restrictions and responsibilities vary depending on the region. In most regions, even New Year's Eve is not a reason to deviate from the established rules," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Prokofieva clarified that in some regions, including Moscow, legislation does not provide for exceptions for holidays, and noise restrictions remain in force.

For individuals, fines for violating these rules usually range from 500 to 2,000 rubles for the first violation, while higher fines are provided for legal entities and officials, the amounts of which depend on regional regulations.

The lawyer recommended that citizens follow the regional laws on silence in order to avoid administrative liability.

Lawyer Ivan Solovyov warned on December 16 that launching fireworks on New Year's holidays could lead to a fine. He noted that there are clear rules for launching fireworks. According to the expert, this is prohibited in the courtyards of apartment buildings — pyrotechnics can only be used in specially designated areas so that charges do not fall into windows and balconies. He also noted that fireworks exceed the permissible noise level, so it is necessary to observe the silence regime established by regional legislation.
