Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces shared the details of the liberation of the city of Stepnogorsk

Units of the 247th Guards Airborne Assault Order of Kutuzov of the Caucasian Cossack Regiment of the 7th Guards Airborne Assault Division (Gornaya) from the Dnepr group of forces liberated the village of Stepnogorsk during offensive operations in the Orekhovsky direction in the Zaporozhye region. The relevant footage is published by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 30.

During the liberation of the city from Ukrainian units, the Stavropol paratroopers demonstrated a high level of training, showing initiative and coordination of actions. Advancing in stages, from one building to another, and attacking from various directions, the "winged infantry" fighters, with the assistance of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and artillery, carried out a sweep of the buildings. The Ukrainian militants, who had been hiding in the basements of high-rise buildings, were driven out. Improvised explosive devices in backpacks were actively used in the process of cleaning basements, which were thrown into hard-to-reach places. After their detonation, the organized resistance of the enemy ceased.

During the storming of the city, artillery, both barrel and rocket, proved to be the best. Their massive fire strikes covered vast territories. Then the amphibious assault groups carried out a sweep of the buildings. The contribution of the units of the unmanned systems of the Stavropol paratroopers is also noted. The UAV crews kept pace with the attackers, carried out reconnaissance, destroyed enemy manpower and equipment using FPV drones, both in open spaces and in shelters. In addition, they provided cover from aerial threats by shooting down enemy drones of various types.

"We chose different routes, <...> the weather played a very big role, <...> that is, the weather conditions. They mostly worked at night, but sometimes they worked during the day. At the moment when the fogs and snowfalls began, that is, it greatly facilitated the work. Using aerial reconnaissance using UAVs, enemy strongholds and enemy flight points were opened, together with artillery, they were opened," said the commander of the airborne assault company with the call sign Bratukha.

After the liberation of the city from the Ukrainian armed forces, the paratroopers mounted the flags of the Russian Federation and Airborne troops on the roofs of high-rise buildings. Currently, the paratroopers continue to successfully carry out their assigned combat missions using advanced tactics and modern weapons.

Vladimir Putin summed up the results of the year in the SVR zone, noting the critical depletion of Kiev's resources and the desperate situation of the encircled enemy groups.

On December 27, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov congratulated the soldiers of the 247th Guards Airborne Assault Regiment on the liberation of Stepnogorsk and emphasized their bravery and courage. Belousov said that the liberation of the village was a continuation of the heroic path and traditions of the Airborne Troops and will forever remain a symbol of courage and perseverance for new generations of defenders of the Fatherland.
