The Liberal Democratic Party wants to attract custody when granting a reprieve from punishment to mothers

On Tuesday, December 30, deputies will submit to the State Duma (State Duma) a bill that proposes to take into account the conclusion of the guardianship authorities when considering a postponement for a crime committed by a mother with children. This was reported to Izvestia by LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky.

"When a mother is sent to a penal colony, not only she gets punished, but also her child, who is forced to be separated from the closest person. As a result, children end up in orphanages, orphanages, with distant relatives or in foster homes, essentially becoming orphans with a living mother. When considering such cases, the Liberal Democratic Party proposes to oblige the court to take into account the opinion of the guardianship authorities — those who professionally assess the child's living conditions, needs and consequences of separation from a parent," the parliamentarian said.

He added that today the courts approach the issue of postponement of punishment too formally, without understanding who really cares for the children. The initiative involves amendments to Article 82 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, stating that when considering deferrals for punishing mothers with children, the court must take into account the position of the guardianship authorities.

Home care: the fine for parents is planned to be increased fourfold

Increased responsibility will come for improper performance of duties related to the upbringing, maintenance and education of children.

On June 17, the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia reported that a criminal case had been opened against a resident of Bashkiria after beating a baby in a stroller. It was clarified that the guardianship authorities initiated the removal of six children from the family of the woman who beat the baby. Previously, she was brought to administrative responsibility for the improper upbringing of her children.
