Employees of the Dachnoye Defense Ministry were detained in St. Petersburg for murder and attempted bombing.

Two employees of the Dachnoye municipality and a local resident suspected of committing murder and attempted murder in 2003 have been detained in St. Petersburg. This was reported on December 29 in the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the region.

According to information 78.ru The detainees are the head of the Ministry of Defense, Vadim Sagalaev, as well as the head of the local administration, Mikhail Seredkin, and the deputy head of Dachny, Igor Zabol.

"During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the suspects, who were part of a stable organized group, committed a number of crimes from June to October 2003," the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said in a Telegram channel.

It is specified that in June 2003, against the background of personal hostility to the victim, which arose due to disputes over the redistribution of shares in several companies, the suspects committed the murder of a married couple and their security guard, and also wounded a bystander.

In October 2003, at the direction of the leadership of the criminal group, a plan was carried out to assassinate the businessman. One of the group members attached an improvised explosive device to the victim's car, but the explosion did not take place, as the actions of the criminals were noticed by eyewitnesses. Subsequently, the device was neutralized by specialists.

Investigators conducted searches at the suspects' places of residence and work. Three men have been detained, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure is currently being resolved.

On December 29, the Southern District Military Court announced the verdict in the criminal case against Artyom Malyshev, who was found guilty of preparing and attempting to commit a terrorist act on the territory of the Zaporizhia region. The accused was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 27 years in a high-security penal colony.
