The dog handler gave advice on choosing overexposure for the dog in the New Year
Vladimir Golubev, President of the Russian Cynological Federation, told how to choose an overexposure for a dog in the New Year.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Monday, December 29, the expert stressed that when choosing overexposure for a dog, it is important to provide it with the most calm and comfortable conditions, since separation from the owner in any case causes stress. According to him, overexposure is not suitable for all pets: it is better to take small puppies, dogs that have recently appeared in the house, and animals with behavioral problems with them.
He noted that the most reliable option remains to transfer the dog to friends or relatives she knows, as this reduces stress from a change of environment. However, it is important to make sure in advance that a person can handle the care of a pet. The specialist also recommended considering out-of-town overexposure or training centers, especially during the New Year holidays, when the city is noisy because of fireworks.
Professional dog handlers work with dogs in such places, providing not only care and walks, but also classes, which helps the pet to bear separation more easily. In addition, Golubev advised checking documents, conditions of detention, staff qualifications and discussing the dog's walking regime and characteristics in advance before concluding the contract.
On December 23, expert Grigory Balagurov warned that some elements of the New Year's decor could pose a danger to pets. He advised pet owners to choose small Christmas trees and place them in hard-to-reach places. If you plan to install a large tree, he recommended providing protection in advance — fencing or heavy objects that will not allow animals to get close to the tree.
