Gymnast Melnikova entered the top 10 best athletes of 2025
Russian gymnast and Olympic champion Angelina Melnikova rounded out the top ten athletes in 2025, and the French magazine L'Equipe presented its version on December 29.
Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh took the first place in the ranking (628 points), USA track and field athlete Sydney McLaughlin took the second place (516), and American short—distance runner Melissa Jefferson—Wooden took the third position (425).
The sixth place was taken by the Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko (293 points).
25-year-old Melnikova scored 72 points in the voting, Sport-Express notes. This year, the Russian won three medals at the World Championships in Jakarta: gold in the individual all-around and vault, as well as a silver medal on uneven bars.
Earlier, on December 24, it became known that the Russian goalkeeper of the American HC Florida, Sergey Bobrovsky, entered the top 8 goalkeepers in the number of wins in the history of the NHL.
