Putin signed a law on fines for tinting temporarily imported cars
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law according to which owners of cars temporarily imported into Russia will be fined for violations of tinting rules. The document was posted on December 29 on the government portal.
The amendments to Part 3 of Article 12.5 of the Administrative Code eliminate a loophole according to which owners of a certain category of cars could not comply with the rules on tinting, since they have the opportunity to use their cars on the territory of the Russian Federation for up to six months without registration with the State Traffic Inspectorate (for example, car owners from South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Armenia and Georgia). While their cars are temporarily imported, the regulations do not apply to car owners.
Now the article in the Administrative Code will refer to the "Basic provisions on the admission of vehicles to operation", and not to the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the safety of wheeled vehicles". The light transmission level of the windscreen and front side windows should still be at least 70%. Changes in the amount of the fine are also not provided, it is 500 rubles. The law comes into force 10 days after its official publication.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law to increase fines for transporting children in a car without a car seat or other restraints, as well as a law on the right of self-employed taxi drivers to work in foreign cars.
