Ukrainian skier Andrei Dotsenko criticized the admission of Russians Savely Korostelev and Daria Nepryaeva to international tournaments.

"I'm on him (Korosteleva. — Ed.) I'm not mad. But sport is politics. And this is not good," the Finnish newspaper Italehti quoted Dotsenko as saying in response to a question about the acceptability of the Russian athlete's participation.

When asked by a Finnish journalist about Korostelev's participation in the Toblach competition, he said he "agreed 100 percent" that Russian athletes should not be allowed to participate in international tournaments.

Norwegian skier Johannes Klebo won the freestyle sprint on December 28 at the first stage of the multi-day Tour de Ski, which takes place in Italy. Russian skier Savely Korostelev, competing in a neutral status, became 49th in qualifying and failed to make it to the quarterfinals of the competition.
