It is noted that a day earlier, the bodies of two three- and five-year-old children with signs of violent death were found in an apartment building on Bauman Street.

"On this fact, the investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Irkutsk region have opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under paragraphs "a, b" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of two minors")," the agency's Telegram channel says.

As specified in the SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the mother of the victims was detained on suspicion of committing a crime — the woman was taken to the investigative department and interrogated. A criminal case has also been opened under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence"), and an assessment of the actions of the prevention system will be given during the investigation.

On December 25, the prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported that a criminal case on negligence had been opened in Norilsk after the death of a five-month-old child from exhaustion. According to the agency, the mother systematically left the children without food for several days.
