Putin has established a Memorial Day for the victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that establishes April 19 as the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People. The relevant document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on December 29.

The document was previously submitted to the State Duma by United Russia parliamentarians led by First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, Secretary of the General Council of the party Vladimir Yakushev, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Irina Yarovaya and head of the United Russia faction Vladimir Vasiliev.
