Rospotrebnadzor has identified volatile organic compounds in the drink Aloe Vera

During an unscheduled inspection, Rospotrebnadzor discovered volatile organic compounds in the composition of Aloe Vera lemonade produced by VELTA‑PENZA LLC. This was announced on December 29 by the press service of the supervisory authority.

It is noted that Rospotrebnadzor specialists selected eight samples of finished products with dates of manufacture.: 11.08.2025, 05.10.2025, 10.12.2025, 16.12.2025, 21.12.2025, 23.12.2025 and on 12/26/2025, and also took a sample of the concentrate used to make lemonade.

"According to the results of completed laboratory tests, volatile organic compounds were detected in five samples of finished products with production dates 08/11/2025, 05/10/2025, 12/10/2025, 12/16/2025 and 12/21/2025, as well as in a concentrate sample. Comprehensive studies are continuing, including for undeclared substances," the statement said.

In this regard, Rospotrebnadzor sent a request to Operator‑CRPT LLC and the Association of Online Commerce Companies (AKIT) to block the sale of products on retail and remote sites.

It is noted that the epidemiological investigation is currently ongoing. The situation remains under strict control. Before receiving the final results of the federal examinations and the official explanations of the department, Russians were urged not to drink the Aloe Vera drink produced by VELTA‑PENZA LLC.

Earlier, on December 26 in Moscow, a child almost got poisoned after he took a sip of lemonade with the name Aloe Vera, bought by his father at a grocery store. Denis Sobolev, the father of the injured boy, told Izvestia that the drink caused a severe burning sensation in the child's mouth immediately after consumption. He noted that the liquid in the bottle had an unpleasant chemical odor similar to acetone.

Later, Rospotrebnadzor launched an investigation, and also issued an order to suspend the sale of the Aloe Vera drink. Later, on December 27, inspections were also initiated by the Prosecutor's Office and the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.
