Former CEO of the American technology corporation IBM Louis Gerstner died at the age of 83 on Saturday, December 27. This was announced on December 28 by IBM Chairman of Directors and CEO Arvind Krishna.

"I regret to inform you that Louis Gerstner, chairman of the board of directors and CEO of IBM from 1993 to 2002, passed away yesterday," he said in a statement on the company's website.

It is noted that Gerstner took over the management of the company during a difficult period for it. However, he was able to achieve significant changes and rectify the situation.
