Trump fans gathered near the Miami residence before talks with Zelensky
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky flew to Miami for talks with American leader Donald Trump. Izvestia correspondent Nikolai Masters arrived at the venue of the talks on December 28 and talked with local residents.
The entrance to the US president's residence has been blocked, so local cities are forced to drive around it. Some of them gathered in front of her with placards, in particular, the Izvestia correspondent managed to talk to a man who was holding a poster with the inscription "We love Daddy Trump."
"Well, the idea of "daddy" came from the head of NATO. And Trump didn't object, but it seemed to me that this was a good statement. So I used it, and the reaction was amazing," said a Trump fan.
Also, a fan of the American president noted that he did not expect that so many media outlets would cover the negotiations.
"This is an important event. He (Vladimir Zelensky. I was here a year ago, and since then many people have died. I meet people from Ukraine, few from Russia, but many Ukrainians here in the USA. And everyone wants this issue to be resolved," he said.
Earlier, the White House reported that US President Donald Trump and Zelensky will hold a meeting on Sunday, December 28, in Florida at 21:00 Moscow time.
On December 26, Trump called Zelensky's proposals to resolve the conflict "irrelevant" until he personally approves them. It is noted that the politician reacted "rather coolly" to Zelensky's latest proposal for a settlement.
