"They had to retreat. They abandoned their positions and simply ran, after which we were able to immediately take their positions. We held the line and handed it over to the fifth brigade," said the commander of the assault platoon with the call sign Spartak.

According to the commander of a motorized rifle platoon with the call sign Serdoba, the sweep took place in small groups.

"The task was to clean up. They went in there in small groups — twos and threes, and they already started clearing every house, and only then the fifth brigade was already handed over these positions. They also snapped at the horsemen, but they did not succeed. When we went in there, they were well coached. And they already understood that they were in the ring. They were already hiding in small groups in the basements. And already when they started to clean up, they had already given up. They had no sense anymore," Serdoba shared.
