Viral leukemia was detected in a two-and-a-half-month-old lioness, whom volunteers seized from a Moscow blogger in serious condition from an apartment in the Moscow City complex. This was reported on December 28 in the Telegram channel of the Pride Land Lviv Park.

"In addition to all the troubles that have befallen the baby, positive leukemia test results have come in. This means that she has this dangerous disease," the park said.

The Pride Land also noted that with such a diagnosis, the life expectancy of a lioness can range from one month to ten years — it all depends on how the body reacts to the virus at different stages of life.

According to the blogger who discovered the wild animal, the lioness had no documents. The man noted that he had not inflicted any bodily injuries.

"The lion cub was not beaten. He was loved <...> I repent completely, I admit the mistake. We have already donated half a million for treatment," the man said in a video posted by the Moscow prosecutor's office on the Telegram channel.

In addition, he assured that a private enclosure would be built for the lioness.

According to the press service of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office, an investigation is currently underway into the illegal detention of a lion cub in an apartment.

On December 27, volunteers of the Pride Land Lions Park reported that a small lioness with severe injuries had been taken from a blogger in the capital and handed over to zoo specialists. The animal was kept in an apartment in Moscow City, however, according to preliminary data, the lioness had serious problems with her spine, tail and paws, causing severe pain. According to the owner, he purchased a lion cub based on an ad, noting that such offers for the sale of wild animals are common.

On December 28, the Moscow Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office organized an investigation into possible mistreatment of wild animals.
