The Mercedes-Benz automaker may return to Russia, but this is not necessary. The corresponding statement was made by Sergey Kogogin, CEO of KAMAZ, on December 28.

"Let's just say they have (Mercedes-Benz. — Ed.) there is such a right and there is such an opportunity. But we hardly need it today," Kogogin said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

Earlier, at the end of October 2022, the automaker announced its intention to withdraw from the Russian market, stopping the supply of cars and their production in the country. According to Albert Karimov, Deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, after the completion of the sale of Mercedes-Benz assets, the new owner will be able to service the brand's cars sold in Russia.

Earlier, auto expert Alexander Kovalev said on October 30 that the first-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class model is considered one of the most unsuccessful models of the brand that can be found on the Russian secondary market. According to him, many fans of the brand do not consider the A-Class to be the "real" Mercedes-Benz and delete it from the brand's history.
