Putin extended the transitional period for the storage of weapons based on the permits of the DPR and LPR

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law extending the transition period until January 1, 2027, allowing weapons to be stored on the basis of permits previously issued in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR). The relevant document was published on December 28 on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The transition period was extended until January 1, 2027. During this period, permits for the storage, carrying and use of weapons and ammunition owned by citizens of the Russian Federation and legal entities, issued by the internal affairs bodies of Ukraine, the state bodies of the DPR and the LPR, are valid.
