The first stage of the large-scale All-Russian project "Cup of the Holy Warriors of Russia", organized by the All-Russian public movement "Forty Sorokov", took place in Mytishchi. The event, which took place on December 27 at the Builder Sports Complex, became a vivid symbiosis of sports, history and spiritual traditions of thousands of years, bringing together about 600 athletes, 500 spectators and honored guests.

The tournament, dedicated to the legendary warrior-monk Alexander Peresvet, opened with a solemn prayer service, after which the audience witnessed spectacular competitions in three disciplines: boxing, army hand-to-hand combat and sambo. Athletes from different regions of Russia gathered on the site, demonstrating not only strength and skill, but also the continuity of values that the holy warriors of Russia have defended for centuries.

Andrey Kormukhin and Vladimir Nosov, founding coordinators of the Sorok Sorokov movement, Mikhail Mamiashvili, President of the Russian Wrestling Federation, Olympic champion, Vyacheslav Damdintsurunov, President of the Russian Army Hand-to-Hand Combat Federation, Deputy of the State Duma of Russia, representatives of the Orthodox clergy, the Mytishchi city administration and the Moscow Region government, as well as other distinguished guests spoke at the opening of the tournament. and famous athletes.

"This is a very significant event. Russia is returning to its thousand-year-old history and spiritual roots. Our project is designed to remind, especially the younger generation, of the exploits of those who created the great history of our country — from Alexander Nevsky and Dmitry Donskoy to the righteous warrior Fyodor Ushakov and the warrior monk Peresvet," Kormukhin said.

He noted that the "Cup of the Holy Warriors of Russia" is the very event that instills in the younger generation not only masculinity and athletic skills, but also a responsible attitude towards traditional family and spiritual and moral values, which is a direct path to improving demographics.

The program of the event brought together not only sports matches, but also a lively dialogue about traditions, faith and patriotism. The participants and guests were addressed by famous athletes, public figures, representatives of Orthodox fraternities and squads, and most importantly, veterans and active military personnel who returned from the area of the special military operation. The organizers plan to hold the second stage of the Cup in February or April, immediately after Lent. It will also be held in one of the big cities of the Moscow region.

Earlier, on September 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that it was time to return traditional values to the international agenda. The Russian leader also noted that SCO members traditionally respect historical and cultural values, as well as civilizational diversity. According to Putin, it is on this basis that contacts between people are deepening, and cooperation is being built in the fields of science, education, healthcare, and sports.
