Ash and lava ejected from Mount Etna in Sicily

"During the day, there was a tendency to increase volcanic activity, which peaked during the most energetic phases, after which the intensity of fluctuations partially decreased," the publication says.
It is noted that during the period of peak activity, lava began gushing from the volcano's mouth, reaching a height of 300-400 m. The ash column also rose for several kilometers, after which it was carried by the wind to the west, and then to the southwest.

"The introduction of the yellow danger level requires increased scientific monitoring and information exchange between the scientific community, regional agencies and the national civil protection system," the publication says.
