Forward of the Washington Capitals hockey club Alexander Ovechkin scored his 912th goal in the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season and scored an assist in an away match against HC New Jersey Devils. The game ended with a score of 4:3 in overtime in favor of Washington, Sport-Express notes.

The 40-year-old Russian broke a streak of five games without points, scoring a goal in the third period and passing to Alexei Protas. In total, in the 2025/26 season, he has 33 points in 38 games (15 goals + 18 assists), and the total number of goals in the NHL, including the playoffs, reached 989 (912+77).

Alexey Protas, Anthony Beauvillier and Jacob Chikran also scored for Washington. Jesper Bratt and Cody Glass scored for New Jersey.
