The Canadian Hockey Federation has apologized for the incident when the national team's players refused to shake hands with the Czech team after the World Youth Championship match, Sport-Express reports.

The game took place on the night of December 27 and ended with a 7-5 victory for Canada.

"After yesterday's game, the Canadian youth national team left the ice before shaking hands with the Czech team. The Canadian Hockey Federation takes full responsibility for this incident and apologizes to the Czech national team, the Czech Hockey Association and the IIHF for our mistake," the press service of the Canadian Hockey Federation said in a statement.

In the next round of the group stage of the World Youth Championship, the Canadians will play Latvia on December 28, and the Czech Republic will face Denmark.
