Russian Armed Forces units set up Russian flags in liberated Gulyai-Pole

Units of the Vostok group of forces have installed the National flags of the Russian Federation in various parts of the city of Gulyai-Pole, Zaporizhia region. This was announced on December 27 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The 57th and 60th separate motorized rifle brigades of the 5th Army, the 114th motorized rifle Regiment of the 127th Division of the 5th Army, as well as the 38th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 35th Army of the Vostok group of forces took part in the operation to liberate the settlement.

"At the moment, thanks to the sensitive leadership of our commanders and the decisive actions of our fighters, Gulyai Pole is behind us," the fighters said.

After fierce fighting, the settlement completely came under the control of units of the Vostok group of forces.

During the fighting, a defense area of more than 76 square kilometers was taken under control.

The national flags of the Russian Federation were installed by assault units in different parts of the city. Over 7,000 buildings and structures were cleared during the operation.

The enemy suffered significant losses to the personnel of the 102nd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, as well as the 33rd, 225th and 425th separate assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

More than 50 armored vehicles and motor vehicles were destroyed.

The liberation of Gulyai-Pole became an important stage in the development of offensive operations and created conditions for the further advance of the units of the Vostok group of forces in the Zaporizhia direction.

Earlier, on December 5, Russian troops liberated the village of Bezymyannoe in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). It is specified that the operation was carried out by units of the Southern Group of Forces. They defeated, among other things, formations of four mechanized, airmobile, assault, amphibious assault, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
