In Russia, the number of cars produced during the Soviet era has been calculated
In Russia, as of mid-2025, about 3 million cars produced during the Soviet era (in the period up to the end of 1991) were registered. This was reported on December 26 by the analytical agency Autostat.
This volume accounts for 5.5% of the total fleet of vehicles in the Russian Federation. The "youngest" of these cars should now be at least 34 years old.
The highest share of "Soviet" vehicles was recorded in the truck segment — 27.7%. The share is 13.5% in the bus category, and 6.6% in the LCV (light commercial vehicle) segment.
The smallest share of cars produced during the Soviet era was recorded in passenger cars — only 3.5%, analysts estimate.
The day before, it was reported that 591 thousand passenger cars were produced in Russia in 11 months of 2025, which is 12.6% lower than in the same period last year. In November, 54.1 thousand passenger cars were produced, which is 34.1% less than a year ago.
