On December 26, Russian Prosecutor General Alexander Gutsan took part in the opening ceremony of the House of Privy Councilor Mikhail Viktorovich Kochubey after its restoration in St. Petersburg.

It is noted that the event was attended by the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor's Office of the city.

The Prosecutor General of Russia reviewed the results of the comprehensive restoration carried out in 2023-2025, emphasizing that a large-scale reconstruction had been carried out in the building, and despite the fact that it affected almost all rooms, it was possible to preserve and completely recreate the original architectural and artistic appearance of the mansion. Gutsan also expressed confidence that the renovated building will become a sought-after, high-status venue for federal and international events in accordance with the tasks assigned to the prosecutor's office.

"I am convinced that this will help strengthen the authority of the supervisory authority, and our careful use of the historical monument will ensure its preservation for many more generations of Russians," said the head of the supervisory authority.

The architectural palace is a monument of cultural heritage of federal significance and is located on Konnogvardeysky Boulevard in St. Petersburg. Since April 2017, the building has been in use by the St. Petersburg Prosecutor's Office. Before the restoration, the palace served as one of the key venues for the supervisory authority to hold major international events, including used for negotiations with foreign colleagues.

Earlier, on December 15, it became known that the restoration of the Hansen house, which is located on the corner of Malaya Konyushennaya Street and Nevsky Prospekt, was completed earlier than planned in St. Petersburg. Initially, the work was planned to be completed by May 2026, but the manufacturer dismantled the scaffolding and took them away.
