During the traditional New Year's Eve meeting with business representatives, Russian President Vladimir Putin did touch upon some topics related to the Ukrainian settlement. This was announced on December 26 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"In general, they touched upon the subject of those discussions that are underway and which have repeatedly been published in the media in the West and by the Kiev regime in the context of the peace settlement process," he explained at a briefing.
