Parking in Moscow will be free during the New Year holidays

Parking on the streets will be free in Moscow from December 31 to January 10. The Metropolitan Department of Transport announced this on December 26 in its Telegram channel.

On January 11, parking will also operate at Sunday rates — they will also be free, but with the exception of streets where fares are 380, 450 and 600 rubles per hour, as well as with dynamic fare zones. The Department of Transport emphasized that parking lots with a boom are open as usual on all days.

It was also announced today that on New Year's Eve in Moscow, the metro and the Moscow Central Ring (MCC) will operate around the clock, and the Moscow Central Diameters (MCC) — until 03:00. At the same time, from 20:00 on December 31 to 06:00 on January 1, travel by metro, MCC and land transport will be free.

Earlier, on December 22, the State Duma proposed transferring to the regional authorities the powers of the traffic police to draw up protocols and evacuate vehicles illegally occupying parking spaces for the disabled in federal cities and the Moscow region.
