HC Severstal beat Sochi at home in the KHL match
The Severstal Hockey Club from Cherepovets defeated HC Sochi in the FONBET match of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) championship. The match took place at Severstal's home arena and ended with a score of 4:3 in overtime, Sport-Express reported on December 25.
Kirill Tankov (one goal and one assist) and Adam Lishka (two assists) scored two points apiece for the hosts. Ruslan Abrosimov and Ilya Ivantsov also scored, and striker Thomas Gregoire scored the decisive goal in extra time. Matvey Guskov scored two points for HC Sochi, while Dmitry Kagarlitsky, Noel Hefenmaier and Maxim Ellis each scored one goal.
After this victory, HC Severstal scored 53 points and ranks second in the KHL Western Conference standings. HC Sochi, with an asset of 26 points, is located in the penultimate, 10th position of the "West".
