The Russian tractor "Valdai 45" was allowed to transport dangerous goods

A special version for the transportation of dangerous goods, such as gases and flammable liquids, has appeared in the range of modifications of the Valdai 45 main tractor. This truck differs from the standard version in its equipment and some technological features. The modification is already available for order, according to a statement from the Modern Transport Technologies company, which was received by Izvestia on December 25.

Such a Valdai 45 is equipped with an automated engine compartment fire extinguishing system, additional fire extinguishers, a special tachograph, a satellite transport monitoring system, a speed limit device and a remote mass switch.

A video surveillance system is also being installed on the Valdai 45, which consists of four cameras — two provide an overview of the traffic situation and cabin monitoring, the other two cameras provide a rear—view view. The image from the cameras is recorded on a hard disk or flash card.

In order for a tractor carrying dangerous goods to be visible in the stream, flashing beacons and warning signs are included in the Valdai 45 package. The driver received a set with respiratory personal protective equipment, reflective vests, emergency stop lights and other accessories.

The technical equipment of the Valdai 45 in the ADR version (road transport of dangerous goods) remains standard. The 470 hp diesel engine is combined with an automated 12-speed transmission.

Earlier, on October 7, Russia introduced the Valdai 45 LNG truck tractor for long-haul transportation, capable of traveling up to 1,200 km without refueling. It has an inline six-cylinder engine with a volume of 14.8 liters (570 hp; Euro-5), which runs on liquefied natural gas.
