The rating of the most expensive brands in Russia is presented.
BrandLab consulting company has published a rating of the 100 most expensive brands in Russia. Compared to last year, the list has been updated by 15%, while the list includes, along with domestic companies, foreign companies that have officially remained in Russia. According to Alexander Eremenko, head of BrandLab, "89 domestic companies account for 96% of the total brand value, while 11 foreign companies account for only 4%."
Sber retained the first place in the rating with a brand value of 2.25 trillion rubles, which is 4% more than a year earlier. According to experts, the bank's leadership is secured by its financial results, brand renewal, and marketing investments.
The next three places in the rating, as well as a year earlier, are occupied by brands of the oil and gas sector. The five leaders of the list are the Pyaterochka store chain (X5) with a brand value of 784 billion rubles (+16%).
In general, almost 80% of the total brand capitalization was formed by five industries: oil and gas, banks, retail, online services, and telecom.
Five companies demonstrated the maximum growth rate of brand value over the year. Telegram became the fastest growing (+175%, 43.2 billion rubles), followed by Wildberries (+147%, 607.5 billion rubles), Golden Apple (+134%, 55.1 billion rubles), Detsky Mir (+97%, 34.0 billion rubles) and Chinese automaker Geely (+88%, 69.5 billion rubles).
The study evaluated 1,000 of Russia's largest companies by revenue. Industry diversity was ensured through quotas, the volume of which was proportional to the share of brand-related activities in the industry. Brand valuation included three stages: determining the royalty rate, analyzing brand strength, and discounting cash flows.
