AvtoVAZ announced the start date of production of the Lada Azimut crossover
The start of production of the new Lada Azimut crossover is scheduled for the summer of 2026. This was announced by the company's press service, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on December 25.
The domestic manufacturer also shared information about other Lada new products that are planned for next year. So, in 2026, the premiere of the updated classic Lada NIva Legend SUV will take place, which will receive a 1.8 liter engine.
In addition, as previously stated by AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov, Lada Vesta Sport is due to debut next year.
The Lada Azimut crossover was first introduced in June this year at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). One of the main and unusual features of the model was the electric heating of the front side windows.
Earlier, on November 21, the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, reported that the project to upgrade the power units of Lada cars was going according to plan, with a three-year implementation period. The new naturally aspirated engines will be used first on Lada Azimut, then on other models of the brand.
On November 10, it became known that AvtoVAZ had put its first Lada crossover to the test. Full-scale tests of the Azimut model are one of the key stages in preparing the model for mass production.
